Project Profile

The Community Data Clinic serves as a resource for developing community-centered solutions for a world drowning in data. Through the promotion of ethical research and data practices, the Community Data Clinic hopes to create strong partnerships outside of academia as well as identify and develop community archives.

One example of this devotion to digital rights is the Just Infrastructure Speaker Series created by researchers at the Community Data Clinic. Discussing “automated injustice,” this series hopes to investigate the interactions between people, algorithms and AI-driven systems.

But hosting important conversations is just the beginning. With the help of NCSA, the Community Data Clinic partnered with a school district to distribute laptops and internet hotspots.
